Comprehensive Guide to Core Knowledge of LED

Detailed Explanations on Selection, Installation, Maintenance & Cost-Related Issues

What is a LED? How does it work?

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source that emits light when an electric current passes through it. Electrons in the semiconductor recombine with electron holes, releasing energy in the form of photons.

What types of LED are there?

Indoor and outdoor LED display screens.

Am I looking for an Indoor or Outdoor LED Wall?

This question is very important. Outdoor panels are usually viewed from a farther distance, so their resolution is lower. Outdoor LED panels may be brighter because they are used in sunlight. In addition, outdoor panels are more durable as they need to withstand weather conditions, dust, moisture and dirt. Indoor panels offer superior colors, smaller pixels and more delicate images. For the same pixel pitch, indoor screens are cheaper. For all these reasons, we recommend using indoor panels unless you actually need to use outdoor screens.

What type of installation do I need?

1.Floor-supported installation: This system is a combination of a base, connecting rods and trusses, which creates a very stable system to support LED screens in various configurations and offers flexibility in terms of height and width.
2.Flying method (rigging): Flying screens need to meet certain requirements. Most importantly, there must be sufficient structural support on the ceiling to bear the total weight of the screen. When someone says they want to "fly" an LED screen, it means the screen will be installed from above onto an overhead truss system, ceiling grid, crane or some other supporting structure.
3.Wall-mounted: Some panels can be drilled and installed on the wall. This is a good option if you are looking for an aesthetically clean and easy-to-maintain feature, but it will increase the cost of the panels.

How close do my audience need to be to the LED wall?

For an LED wall, each individual LED is a pixel. The pixel pitch figure represents the distance between the LEDs on the wall (in millimeters) and the minimum viewing distance (in meters). The optimal viewing distance is usually 2-3 times the pixel pitch value (in meters).

What brightness should it be?

Indoor brightness: 1000-1500 nits
Outdoor brightness: 3500-6000 nits

What is the refresh rate of your panels?

We provide high-refresh-rate panels. If you are broadcasting online, you need to ensure that the refresh rate of the panel is no less than 3840 Hz. Panels with low refresh rates will cause wavy lines, which distract the audience.

What should I do if the Pixel stops working?

If one of the pixels is damaged, we simply remove the module and replace it with a spare module.

What kind of warranty do you provide?

Our warranty is included in the total price. We provide a 2-year warranty for all LED wall panels. (Extended warranty is available for up to 5 years.)

What are the service and maintenance for LED panels?

Most LED panels have a rated service life of 60,000 to 100,000 hours. You will have these panels for a long time and get a lot of use out of them. If a fault occurs, you can contact us and we will provide you with all the information to properly repair and maintain your panels.

How much does an LED wall cost?
The following factors listed below will affect the total cost.

1.Pixel pitch: The lower the pixel pitch, the higher the cost.

2.Size: The larger the wall, the more panels you will need.

3.Refresh rate: A refresh rate of 3840 Hz and above is called a "high refresh rate". This will result in a higher cost for the panels.

4.Installation method: The way you install the panels will affect the total cost.
